7 Steps To Get Started With Self Sufficiency,

Start small- You don’t have to completely overhaul your lifestyle to become self-sufficient. Start with small changes that can eventually become bigger habits.
  1. Grow your own food- Plant a garden in your backyard or look into community garden projects. You can even grow small plants indoors.

  2. Learn about rainwater collection systems.

  3. Learn basic repair skills- Learn how to fix things around your home, such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. It will save you money and make you more independent.

  4. Make your own products- Start making your own cleaning supplies, beauty products, and soaps. Not only will you save money, you’ll also be more aware of the ingredients that you’re using on yourself and in your home.

  5. Become more energy efficient- Install LED lights and energy efficient appliances in your home, and look into solar panel options.

  6. Reuse and re-purpose items when possible to cut down on waste and save money. I have even sold my repurposed items for extra cash.

  7. Don’t be afraid to barter, trade and negotiate with those who are willing. Not everyone appreciates being taxed on their transactions. Agorism is the way!

It is important to be self sufficient because it allows you to become independent, and develop skills that can help you in many areas of life. Being able to rely on yourself for the things you need can give you a sense of accomplishment and control in an uncertain world. It also helps to build confidence and resilience, which can be beneficial in all aspects of life. Additionally, it can help reduce stress and anxiety by reducing your reliance on Corporations and Governments.
